Castellated Holes
Castellated Holes
Castellations are plated through-holes located at the edge of a PCB that are cut in half during board separation, creating half-moon shaped plated edges. They are commonly used for module-to-board soldering in wireless modules, sensor boards, and other compact designs.
Specifications
- Minimum hole diameter: 0.5mm
- Minimum pitch: 1.27mm
- Holes must be positioned exactly at the board edge
- Plating extends along the half-hole wall for reliable solder connections
Applications
- WiFi/Bluetooth modules
- Sensor daughter boards
- Power supply modules
- Any board-to-board solder connection
