Castellated Holes

Castellated Holes

Castellations are plated through-holes located at the edge of a PCB that are cut in half during board separation, creating half-moon shaped plated edges. They are commonly used for module-to-board soldering in wireless modules, sensor boards, and other compact designs.

Specifications

  • Minimum hole diameter: 0.5mm
  • Minimum pitch: 1.27mm
  • Holes must be positioned exactly at the board edge
  • Plating extends along the half-hole wall for reliable solder connections

Applications

  • WiFi/Bluetooth modules
  • Sensor daughter boards
  • Power supply modules
  • Any board-to-board solder connection
